Ward, the Vice President of the Waccamaw Neck Republican Club is a graduate of Clemson University. He was in management with Esso/Exxon for 12 years, and was then successively the President of Standard Cap & Seal- Atlanta; Rixie Paper Products-Pottstown, Pa; and Sonoco Paperboard Specialties before retiring to Pawleys Island in 2002. Ward is on the Board of Directors of the Pawleys Island Chapel and Civic Association. He is Vice Chairman of Planning and Zoning for the Town of Pawleys Island, a member of the Georgetown County Visions II and Land Use Committees, and the Waccamaw Neck Council of Property Owners Associations
